What it’s actually like
The best-scoring open hotel on Al Marjan Island, at the lowest price on it
Rove Al Marjan Island opened in April 2025 as the first Rove outside Dubai, and it has done something the island’s more expensive resorts have not: it holds a 9.2 guest score on Booking.com, the highest of any open hotel on Al Marjan. It does that from a lead-in rate of around AED 185 a night, which is also about the lowest on the island. That combination is the whole story.
There are 441 rooms, roughly 30% of which interconnect — a design decision aimed squarely at families and groups. The property has a private beach, an outdoor cinema, a DJ piazza and a co-working space, and it is Barjeel Green certified. If you are planning a trip around Wynn Al Marjan Island and do not want to spend a fortune on the bed, this is the value pick, and it is not close.
The single biggest reason to hesitate is that Rove is a midscale brand and the facilities list reflects that. There is no spa and no kids’ club, and alcohol is not among the property’s listed facilities — if a drink by the pool is part of your holiday, verify that directly with the hotel before booking, because Rove is not a licensed-resort brand by default. This is a very good room and a good beach, not a full-service resort.

Location
Rove is on Al Marjan Island, the reclaimed island chain that has absorbed most of Ras Al Khaimah’s new hotel supply and which hosts Wynn Al Marjan Island. If the Wynn development is a reason for your trip, being on the island removes a drive at both ends of every evening. See our guide to the hotels nearest Wynn for how the options compare.
The island remains a work in progress. Expect construction hoardings in places, limited shops and restaurants outside the hotels, and roads that are still being finalised. Al Hamra, ten to fifteen minutes south, has the marina, the mall and the golf club, and is the place to head for an evening off-resort. Dubai International is about 80 minutes away.
Rooms and suites
441 rooms, with around 30% designed to interconnect. That figure is the single most useful fact on this page for anyone travelling as two families or with grandparents in tow. At most resorts an interconnecting pair is a request you hope gets honoured; here it is designed into roughly a third of the inventory, which makes it far more likely you actually get one.
Rove rooms are compact, well-organised and built for durability rather than luxury — that is the brand’s established formula in Dubai and it is what has driven the 9.2 score here. The property is new, opened in 2025, so the hardware is in good condition. Do not expect a large room, a bathtub as standard, or a balcony in every category. Check the specific category rather than assuming.
Beach, pool, and facilities
There is a private beach and a gym. Beyond that, Rove has built its facilities around social space rather than resort amenities: an outdoor cinema, a DJ piazza and a co-working space. That last one is unusual on this coast and makes the hotel a genuine option for remote workers who want a beach and a desk in the same place.
The property is Barjeel Green certified, Ras Al Khaimah’s own building sustainability standard, which is worth knowing if that factors into your choices. What you do not get is a spa, a kids’ club, or the pool acreage of a full resort. For four pools across roughly 6,000 sqm you need the Sofitel in Al Hamra; for a spa on the same island, DoubleTree Marjan Island.
Dining
Rove’s dining model is casual, all-day and priced to be used rather than saved for special occasions, which is consistent with the brand elsewhere. The outdoor cinema and DJ piazza function as evening venues in their own right. The full outlet line-up at this property is not consistently published, so check what is open for your dates rather than relying on launch material.
Alcohol is not listed among the property’s facilities. Rove does not operate as a licensed-resort brand by default, so if you want a bar, confirm it directly with the hotel — and if a drink with dinner is non-negotiable, the licensed resorts on the same island, such as Movenpick or Radisson Resort, are the safer booking.
Family suitability
Strong on the practicalities, thin on entertainment. Around 30% interconnecting rooms, a new-build property, a private beach, an outdoor cinema and a rate low enough that a family of four can stay a week without wincing — that is a serious family proposition, and the 9.2 score suggests families are getting what they expected.
What is missing is a kids’ club. If you were counting on a supervised session to buy yourself two hours by the pool, this is not the hotel. Radisson Resort Marjan Island has one at a comparable price, though it scores far lower. Our family shortlist weighs the two properly.
Couples suitability
Fine for a young, budget-conscious couple who want a beach, a decent room and somewhere sociable in the evening. The DJ piazza and outdoor cinema give the place a bit of life, which is more than can be said for several pricier resorts nearby.
It is not a romantic choice. No spa, compact rooms, a lot of families, and 441 keys of social energy. Couples wanting quiet and treatment rooms should spend the difference at Anantara Mina Al Arab or the Waldorf Astoria.
What is good
- A 9.2 guest score, the highest of any open hotel on Al Marjan Island
- From around AED 185, roughly the lowest lead-in rate on the island
- Around 30% of the 441 rooms interconnect, which is rare and genuinely useful
- New-build, opened April 2025, so the hardware is in good order
- Private beach, outdoor cinema, DJ piazza and a co-working space
- Barjeel Green certified
What is not good
- No spa and no kids’ club — this is a hotel with a beach, not a full-service resort
- Alcohol is not among the listed facilities; confirm directly if that matters to you
- Rooms are compact by resort standards, in line with the Rove formula
- 441 keys makes it busy and social rather than restful
- The island is still under construction, with little to walk to off-resort
Value verdict
The clearest value in Ras Al Khaimah right now. From around AED 185 you get a new-build room on a private beach on the island everyone is watching, and the highest guest satisfaction on that island. The resorts charging three, five and seven times as much are not scoring better.
Read that carefully, though. Rove scores 9.2 because it delivers exactly what it promises at a low price, not because it out-facilities the competition. If your holiday depends on a spa, a kids’ club or a poolside bar, the score will not save you. Judged as a clean, new, well-run base on Al Marjan Island, it is very hard to beat — and cheaper than most of the island field.
Who should book Rove Al Marjan Island?
Anyone planning a trip around Wynn Al Marjan Island who would rather spend their money off the room rate. Families and multi-generational groups who need interconnecting rooms. Remote workers who want a beach and a co-working space. Value-focused travellers who care more about a clean, new room than about a spa menu.
Who should skip it?
Anyone who needs a spa, a kids’ club or a guaranteed poolside drink. Couples after a quiet, romantic stay. Travellers who want large rooms, balconies or a sprawling low-rise resort with lawns and multiple pools. For those, the Al Hamra properties and the island’s upper-tier resorts are the right answer.

FAQ
Is Rove Al Marjan Island good for families?
For the practicalities, yes. Around 30% of its 441 rooms interconnect, it is new-build, it has a private beach and an outdoor cinema, and it is cheap enough for a long stay. There is no kids’ club, so if supervised childcare matters, look at Radisson Resort or Movenpick instead.
Does it serve alcohol?
Alcohol is not among the property’s listed facilities, and Rove does not operate as a licensed-resort brand by default. Confirm directly with the hotel before booking if a bar matters to you. Licensed alternatives on the same island include Movenpick, Radisson Resort and Rixos Bab Al Bahr.
Why does it score higher than the expensive resorts nearby?
Guest scores measure expectations met, not luxury delivered. Rove promises a clean, new, well-run room at a low price and does that consistently. Resorts charging several times more are judged against much higher expectations. Read the 9.2 as reliability, not as evidence of superior facilities.
Is it walkable to Wynn Al Marjan Island?
It is on the same island, which puts it among the closest hotel options. Precise walking distances depend on which of Al Marjan’s islands each sits on and on road access as the development finishes. Check current details with the hotel nearer your travel dates rather than trusting masterplan maps.
Bottom line
If you are booking around Wynn Al Marjan Island and want your money to go on the trip rather than the room, this is the pick. The highest guest score on the island at close to the lowest price is not a fluke — it is what happens when a hotel is honest about what it is. Just accept that what it is has no spa, no kids’ club and no guaranteed bar.
