What it’s actually like
A cabana-and-chalet beach resort whose current trading status we could not confirm
Check directly with the property before you book. As of our most recent check in September 2026, BM Beach Resort is no longer listed on BM Hotels & Resorts’ own website, which shows only BM Beach Hotel and Longbeach Campground. Third-party booking sites still carry the resort with current-year rates, and we found no announcement of a closure. We could not confirm from a primary source that it is trading, so treat everything below as a description of the property as documented, not as an assurance that you can turn up and check in. Ring the resort or your booking platform and get confirmation in writing.
On paper the appeal is clear. This is a low-rise resort on the Al Jazirah Al Hamra coast built around 176 cabanas and chalets rather than conventional hotel floors, with three outdoor pools and a private beach. It was formerly the Smartline Bin Majid Beach Resort, and the older name still appears across listing sites, which is part of why the picture is muddled. The biggest reason to hesitate is exactly the one above: an operator that has quietly dropped a property from its own site is not a reassuring signal, and a resort in limbo is rarely a resort at its best.

- Guest score: 8.4 on TripAdvisor — TripAdvisor’s figure, not a RAKTraveller rating. Other platforms score it lower
- Rates: from around AED 400 where listed, check live rates
- Dubai Airport: roughly 70 minutes by car
- Former name: Smartline Bin Majid Beach Resort
Location
The resort sits on the Al Jazirah Al Hamra coast, south of Ras Al Khaimah city and within reach of the Al Hamra cluster of golf, marina and mall. It is a quieter, flatter part of the emirate than the Corniche, and the surrounding area includes the well-known abandoned pearling village of Al Jazirah Al Hamra, which is worth an hour if you are staying nearby.
Dubai International is around 70 minutes away by car. If this part of the coast is what draws you, our guide to hotels in Al Hamra covers the properties nearby whose operating status is not in question.
Rooms
The distinguishing feature is the accommodation format: 176 cabanas and chalets spread across the grounds rather than rooms stacked in a tower. In practice that means short walks to your door, ground-level access, and the pleasant absence of corridors — but also more exposure to grounds noise and, in older resorts of this type, more variation in upkeep from unit to unit.
Facilities
Three outdoor pools and a private beach are the core, which is a generous allocation of water for a midscale resort. Listing data also references a fitness centre, spa treatments, tennis and watersports. We have not been able to verify from a primary source which of these are currently operating, and in a property whose status is uncertain that caveat matters more than usual. Assume nothing is running until the resort confirms it.
Dining
The resort has historically operated multiple dining venues and is licensed, with alcohol served. Individual outlet names, opening hours and board-basis options are not currently published by the operator, and older listing records include periods when dining venues were closed. We are not naming restaurants we cannot verify. Confirm what is open, and on what board basis, before you commit — this is the single most likely thing to differ from expectation.
Who it suits
In its documented form, this suits families and couples who like a spread-out, low-rise beach resort with plenty of pool water and a licensed bar, at below the rates charged in Al Marjan or Mina Al Arab. Given the uncertainty, it currently suits only travellers who are willing to do their own verification and who book on flexible, cancellable terms.
What is good
- Cabana and chalet layout rather than hotel corridors
- Three outdoor pools plus a private beach
- Quiet stretch of coast with Al Hamra’s golf and mall within reach
What is not good
- Current operating status could not be confirmed from a primary source
- Absent from the operator’s own website, while third-party sites still sell it
- Published facts conflict between sources, including the number of units
- Guest scores vary widely by platform, from the mid-6s to the mid-8s
Value verdict
Rates appear from around AED 400 where the resort is listed, but check live rates — and check them against what else that money buys. At that level you are within range of established beach properties elsewhere in the emirate whose status is not in doubt. Value is not really the question here; certainty is. A slightly higher rate at a resort you know will be open is the better trade for most people.
Who should skip it?
Anyone booking a non-refundable rate, anyone travelling for a fixed occasion, and anyone who would find a last-minute relocation genuinely disruptive. Until the operator clarifies the position publicly, that covers most travellers. If you want the same coast without the ambiguity, look at the Al Hamra properties instead.

FAQ
Is BM Beach Resort still open?
We could not confirm it. The property is absent from BM Hotels & Resorts’ own website, which lists only BM Beach Hotel and Longbeach Campground, yet third-party platforms continue to show current-year rates. We found no closure announcement either way. Contact the resort or your booking platform directly and get written confirmation before paying.
Is BM Beach Resort the same as BM Beach Hotel?
No. They are separate properties. BM Beach Hotel is on King Faisal Street near Ras Al Khaimah city, with 136 rooms and a 300-metre private beach. BM Beach Resort is further south on the Al Jazirah Al Hamra coast and is built around cabanas and chalets. Booking sites frequently confuse the two.
What was BM Beach Resort called before?
It traded as the Smartline Bin Majid Beach Resort, and before that under the Bin Majid name alone. Older listings, review archives and map entries still use those names, which is worth knowing when you are trying to work out whether a review you are reading describes the property in its current form.
Bottom line
A spread-out cabana resort with three pools and its own beach is a reasonable proposition on the Al Jazirah Al Hamra coast. What we cannot tell you is whether it is currently operating, because the company that runs it no longer lists it and nobody has said why. That is not a reason to assume the worst, but it is a reason to verify before you pay, and to book nothing you cannot cancel.
How this page was prepared
This page is desk research, not a hosted stay. We checked BM Hotels & Resorts’ official website and a range of booking platforms in September 2026, and have reported the contradiction between them rather than picking whichever version made for a tidier page. Guest scores are attributed to their source. Verify status and rates directly before booking.
