What it’s actually like
What this is and when it lands
Mira Coral Bay is a large mixed-use waterfront development on the Al Mairid coast, by Mira Developments with Marjan. Its hotel component runs to 350 keys in total — a 250-room resort hotel plus a separate 100-key spa hotel — alongside two branded beach clubs, a yacht club, ten restaurants and 943 residential units.
One thing separates this from the other projects on our watch list: no hotel operator has been announced. The buildings have a developer, a location and a specification, but nobody has said who will run them. Until that changes, almost nothing about the guest experience can be predicted, and no opening date has been given either.
Opening date
None announced. Mira Developments and Marjan have publicised the masterplan and the residential component but have not published a hotel opening year or quarter.
That is unsurprising given that the operator is also unannounced — hotel management agreements are usually signed and publicised well before an opening date is set. The residential sales programme runs on its own schedule and should not be read as a hotel timeline.

- Opening: not announced
- Drive from Dubai International (DXB): about 70 minutes
Where it sits
The Al Mairid coast, south of Ras Al Khaimah city and north of Al Marjan Island. This is the same stretch that holds Rixos Al Mairid, the emirate’s largest all-inclusive, and it is a comparatively underbuilt piece of coastline given how close it is to the city.
Practically, that means roughly ten to fifteen minutes into Ras Al Khaimah city and the Corniche, around 25 minutes to Ras Al Khaimah International, and about 70 minutes from Dubai International. Al Marjan Island, and the Wynn development that is reshaping it, is around 25 minutes south.
What is being built
The announced components are a 250-room resort hotel, a separate 100-key spa hotel, two branded beach clubs, a yacht club, ten restaurants and 943 residential units. The split into two hotels with different functions — one resort, one wellness — is an unusual structure in the emirate and suggests the development is aiming at two distinct markets from one site.
The word “branded” attached to the beach clubs implies external partners have been lined up, but none has been named. Neither have any of the ten restaurants. No designer or architect has been publicly attributed to the hotel buildings.
Who it looks right for
On the announced shape — a yacht club, two beach clubs, ten restaurants and a dedicated spa hotel — this reads as a destination for people who want a resort with a social scene attached, and separately for a wellness market that Ras Al Khaimah does not really serve today.
We would stress how provisional that is. Without an operator, the difference between a considered luxury resort and an ordinary one with good facilities is unknowable. The management company will decide the service standard, the rate position and much of the character, and it has not been named.
What is still unconfirmed
- The hotel operator. The biggest gap by some distance. No management company announced for either hotel.
- The opening date. Not announced in any form.
- The beach club brands. Described as branded, but neither partner named.
- The ten restaurants. None named or described.
- Positioning and rates. Nothing published, and nothing inferable without an operator.
- Phasing. Whether the two hotels, the clubs and the residences open together or in stages.
- Architects and interior designers. Not publicly attributed.
Where to stay in the meantime
On the same stretch of coast, Rixos Al Mairid is the incumbent, with 1.5 km of private beach, though note its rooms are being refurbished into Q4 2026. Further south, Rixos Bab Al Bahr on Al Marjan Island gives you the beach-club-and-yacht register this development is aiming at.
For a quieter, more design-led stay, Anantara Mina Al Arab is the emirate’s strongest current option. Our best luxury hotels guide and the full index cover everything open now.
FAQ
Which hotel brand will run Mira Coral Bay?
No operator has been announced for either hotel. The project is currently unbranded, which is unusual for a development of this scale and means the service standard, rate position and overall character are genuinely unknown. We will update this page when a management company is named.
When will it open?
No opening date has been announced, not even a year. That is consistent with the operator also being unannounced, since management agreements are normally publicised before an opening date is set. The residential sales programme is separate and is not a hotel timeline.
How many hotels are there?
Two, totalling 350 keys: a 250-room resort hotel and a separate 100-key spa hotel. The development also includes two branded beach clubs, a yacht club, ten restaurants and 943 residential units on the Al Mairid coast.
Bottom line
A large, ambitious waterfront development with a clear specification and two conspicuous blanks: no operator and no date. The 250-room resort plus 100-key spa hotel structure is interesting and the location is good. But an unbranded hotel project is a proposal until a management company signs, and everything a traveller would want to know depends on who that turns out to be. Nothing here is bookable and nothing here is plannable.
How this page was prepared and when it was last checked
The figures above — Mira Developments with Marjan, the Al Mairid coast location, 350 keys split between a 250-room resort hotel and a 100-key spa hotel, two branded beach clubs, a yacht club, ten restaurants and 943 residential units — come from developer announcements and regional coverage of them. We have checked for a hotel management agreement and found none announced; that absence is reported as a fact rather than filled with a guess. No opening date exists to report. This is a status page, not a review; nobody has stayed here. Last checked: September 2026.
