What it’s actually like

What this is and when it lands

Rotana Ras Al Khaimah – The Mangroves is a 258-key hotel on Khuzam Street at the Al Qawasim Corniche, built around the emirate’s largest ballroom and a ten-room meeting floor. It is a business and events hotel with a view, not a beach resort, and of the six forthcoming properties we track it is the nearest to opening — the announced date is Q4 2026, which is now.

That proximity is the reason to read this page rather than the others. Rotana has named its restaurants and given a month for two of them, which is the kind of detail operators only release when a hotel is genuinely close to handover. If any of these six opens on schedule, it is this one.

Opening date

Q4 2026, announced by Rotana. The supporting detail is unusually firm: three of the food and beverage outlets — Yoru, Terra and Habib Beirut Mare — are stated as opening from November 2026.

A November date for named venues is a strong signal, though it is still an announcement rather than a confirmed opening. UAE hotels frequently open in stages, with rooms trading before all the restaurants are running, or a soft opening preceding the marketed date by weeks. Treat Q4 2026 as credible and the exact day as unset.

At a glance

  • Operator: Rotana
  • Location: Khuzam Street, Al Qawasim Corniche, Ras Al Khaimah city
  • Keys: 258
  • Events: the largest ballroom in the emirate, plus ten meeting rooms
  • Dining: five outlets, including Yoru, Terra and Habib Beirut Mare from November 2026
  • Views: mangroves and the Arabian Gulf
  • Announced opening: Q4 2026
  • Drive from Dubai International (DXB): about 70 minutes

Where it sits

Khuzam Street runs along the Al Qawasim Corniche in Ras Al Khaimah city, on the creek side rather than the open coast. The hotel overlooks the mangroves that line the creek, with Gulf views from higher floors.

This is a city location and should be judged as one. You are in walking distance of the Corniche, close to the old town, the fish market and the emirate’s government and commercial district. You are not on a beach. For conferences, government business and weddings that is exactly right; for a week in the sun it is the wrong side of the emirate, and the beach resorts at Mina Al Arab and Al Marjan are 20 to 40 minutes away.

What is being built

258 keys, mangrove and Gulf views, and an events floor that is the point of the whole project: Rotana states the ballroom will be the largest in Ras Al Khaimah, supported by ten separate meeting rooms. Nothing on that scale currently exists in the emirate, and it is a deliberate bid for the conference and wedding business that has been going to Dubai.

Five food and beverage outlets are planned. Three have been named: Yoru, Terra and Habib Beirut Mare, opening from November 2026. The remaining two have not been announced. No ballroom capacity figure, room-size data or spa detail has been published, though a spa and gym are part of the specification.

Who it looks right for

Business travellers, conference and incentive groups, and wedding parties. If you are organising an event in Ras Al Khaimah for more people than the existing hotels can seat, this is the property that changes your options.

It also suits anyone who wants a city base with proper restaurants and a licensed bar, close to the old town and the Corniche, without paying resort rates. Leisure travellers whose holiday is the beach should look at Mina Al Arab or Al Marjan instead.

What is still unconfirmed

  • The actual opening day. Q4 2026 is a quarter, not a date, and staged openings are normal.
  • Ballroom capacity. Described as the emirate’s largest, but no square metres or covers figure published.
  • Two of the five dining outlets. Unnamed and undescribed.
  • Rates. Nothing published.
  • Room categories and sizes. 258 keys is the only accommodation figure.
  • Pool and beach arrangements. No beach club or shuttle arrangement has been announced, which matters at a city hotel.

Where to stay in the meantime

In and around the city, Hilton Garden Inn Ras Al Khaimah is the established mid-market business option and Citymax Hotel Ras Al Khaimah the budget one. Cove Rotana is the operator’s existing property in the emirate and gives a fair sense of Rotana’s standards here, though it is a bay resort rather than a city hotel.

If your trip is really about the beach, start with the Mina Al Arab hotels guide or the full index.

FAQ

When does Rotana Ras Al Khaimah – The Mangroves open?

Rotana has announced Q4 2026, with the restaurants Yoru, Terra and Habib Beirut Mare opening from November 2026. That is a quarter rather than a confirmed day, and UAE hotels often open in stages, but this is the nearest to opening of the emirate’s forthcoming hotels.

Is it on the beach?

No. It is a city hotel on Khuzam Street at the Al Qawasim Corniche, overlooking the creek mangroves with Gulf views from upper floors. The beach resorts at Mina Al Arab and Al Marjan Island are 20 to 40 minutes away by road.

How big are the event facilities?

Rotana states the hotel will have the largest ballroom in Ras Al Khaimah, supported by ten meeting rooms. No capacity figure or floor area has been published, so the claim cannot yet be checked against a number. The hotel has 258 keys.

Bottom line

The most concrete of the emirate’s forthcoming hotels, and the only one with named restaurants and a stated month. If you are planning an event in Ras Al Khaimah in 2027, this should be on your list now. If you are planning a beach holiday, it should not — this is a city hotel by the mangroves, and it is honest about that. The date is credible but still a quarter, and two of the five restaurants remain unnamed.

How this page was prepared and when it was last checked

The details here — the Khuzam Street and Al Qawasim Corniche location, 258 keys, the largest ballroom in the emirate plus ten meeting rooms, five food and beverage outlets with Yoru, Terra and Habib Beirut Mare from November 2026, and the mangrove and Gulf views — come from Rotana’s announcements and regional trade coverage of them. Where we have distinguished an announced date from a confirmed one, that distinction is deliberate. This is a status page, not a review; the hotel has not opened and nobody has stayed. Last checked: September 2026.
